Terrah,

The ceremony was beautiful and it seemed everyone there was touched by it,  which I was so happy about!  Olga was very attentive and worked hard to create the perfect day for us.

Thanks again for your support and assistance!

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to get married on the
beach. Doing a destination wedding was a no-brainer for me…I knew it
would be simple and laid-back, and I love saving money. I had this
vision in my head of doing the ceremony on the beach at sunset, with
the sun setting over the water. I also love the look of the bright,
turquoise-blue water. So I started hunting for locations in the
Caribbean that faced west. After comparing prices of plane tickets, I
decided Cozumel would be the best option for us. From there, Nicki
made a couple of suggestions for us to look into, and we decided the
Iberostar Cozumel was the best choice for us. The resort looked
absolutely beautiful in all the pictures, and we loved the quaint
setting of the individual bungalows rather than a typical hotel
building. We knew we would have some guests with children, so the fact
that kids under 12 stayed free was a plus. It also worked out quite
nicely, because we had some guests that wanted to stay on the
mainland, so they stayed at the Iberostar Quetzal, which had exchange
privileges with our resort.
The wedding coordinator and the staff as a whole were fantastic. It
was a little nerve-racking at times trying to communicate leading up
to the wedding, as responses were sometimes slow and picking out
everything from pictures is not always easy. But once we arrived we
received plenty of attention and they happily made all of our requests
a reality. One thing I really loved about the Iberostar is that they
only do one wedding per day, so you get all the attention you need on
your big day, and last minute changes can be accommodated for.
One of the major highlights for us was seeing our family interact and
get to know each other! We are from different states, and our wedding
was really the first time our families had met. It was so fun to see
them mesh so well and enjoying vacation together!  Because we had such
a large group there, we qualified for the resort’s “free wedding
package.” Because of this, we did not expect some of the things in the
regular wedding package to be included, but we were pleasantly
surprised when they had not only included the sound system for our
ceremony, they also decorated our suite on our wedding night with rose
petals everywhere, complete with a bottle of champagne with chocolate
covered strawberries!
We had contemplated spending some extra money to have a private
reception at one of the restaurants or the discotheque. We ended up
deciding not to and are so glad we didn’t! Because we had such a big
group, the resort had already blocked off all reservations for the
restaurant we chose, so there was no one else there anyways. Most of
our group went to the discotheque for some dancing afterwards, and
while there were a few other people there, the DJ happily let us
choose some of our own songs to play for our first dance and things
like that.
One thing we did splurge on that was well worth it was we paid a
little extra to have a Junior Suite. The room was beautiful, the bed
was more comfortable than the regular rooms, and there was a lot of
space! We loved it.
Overall, we had a great experience! Everything went so smoothly, and
it was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. My biggest piece
of advice to any bride planning a destination wedding, would be to try
not to worry about all the details too much. It doesn’t matter if your
flowers and cake end up exactly as you hoped…in the end, you are
going to marry the love of your life in paradise, and you really can’t
beat that! Nicki was absolutely fantastic and helped me every step of
the way, from choosing a perfect location, to dealing with my crazy
guests making major changes the day before departure. I was so blessed
to have her help and input throughout the entire process!
“I’m glad I could help you with such a special event. Thank you for allowing me to assist in your big day.
Congratulations again! I couldn’t be happier for the two of you!
~Nicki”
